With new rights\, new duties\, and a phased rollout soon to begin\, frontline workers and advisers need to feel confident explaining what’s changing and what it means for the people they support. The workshop will be delivered with our associate\, Diane Astin and is funded by Trust for London. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a practical\, accessible workshop that walks you through the key reforms coming in Phase 1 and how they will work.\n\n\n\nParticipants will also receive links to our new information resources and the answers to all case scenarios discussed. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is aimed primarily at community groups and grassroots organisations\, although advice workers and other interested parties are welcome to attend. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is intended for organisations in England\, as legal frameworks differ across the devolved nations. \n\n\n\nThe workshop is suitable for people without formal legal training\, but it will be most useful for those who have some experience of housing issues – whether through work\, volunteering\, or lived experience. The workshop will be delivered in English\, and any accessibility needs can be shared through the registration form. \n\n\n\nThe workshop is free to attend. However\, spaces are limited. We will prioritise participants from community/grassroot organisations who have not previously attended one of our housing courses. Due to limited capacity\, we will accept a maximum of two participants per organisation.

DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP for this fair HERE: Check our Eventbrite \n\n\n\nCitizens Advice Southwark are holding their first ever Southwark Private Renters’ Fair on Saturday 30 May at the Rockingham Community Centre! \n\n\n\nWith the Renters’ Rights Act coming into force from 1 May\, they’re working with Southwark Council\, legal and community organisations in the borough to make sure renters are getting the support they need to access their rights\, and understand how the changes in law will affect them. \n\n\n\nWho is this event aimed at?All private renters living in Southwark are welcome to attend the fair. \n\n\n\nWhat kind of issues can I get help with?You can get help with a range of issues affecting your private renting experience\, including:  \n\n\n\n\nTenancy relations (e.g. eviction\, harassment)\n\n\n\nDisrepair\n\n\n\nLicensing issues – report an unlicensed property\n\n\n\nRent Repayment Orders\n\n\n\nDeposits\n\n\n\nWelfare benefits\n\n\n\nCost of living\n\n\n\nCommunity support\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhich services and organisations will be attending?A range of council services\, charities and legal organisations will be at the fair and you can get help from their teams on a drop-in basis.
